Mary Ellen Erickson, Ph.D., resides on a farm in central North Dakota with her husband Dwayne. Dr. Erickson is a retired teacher/school counselor. She spent over 30 years working with students K-12 in fields such as music, physical education, social studies, psychology, and counseling/guidance. Dr. Erickson has a B.S. degree from Valley City State University, and M.S. degree from North Dakota State University, and a Ph.D. from Walden University. She has written some children's books that stress values, character and work ethics; a non-fiction book on caregiving of elderly parents; a historical fiction novel about growing up German/Russian in the 1950's; an adult novel about 7 retired women; a motivational book to help people survive in tough times; and two juvenile fiction books that stress responsibility and good decision making.

Grandma is a retired teacher who loves children, so she decides to teach Bonbon work skills, values, and character by sending her to school, and also instructing her at home.
